Six Homes, Half a Billion Dollars! The Red Cross in Haiti.

A recent article in ProPublica highlights the scandal of a few years ago in Haiti, with new information and documentation. Mainstream Charity is riddled with waste and corruption. This investigation shows that big organizations are, even at their best, less able to use your money effectively and efficiently than if you just sent your money directly to poor people.

People all over the world are more than capable of solving their problems with a little help. They don’t need accountants, project managers, grant proposal writers, UN programs or any of the other jargon-spouting masses being imposed on them by mainstream charity and government “aid”. They just need some friends to help them out.

What Would You Do?

What would you do if you
Knew all the things we knew?
Would you stand up for truth?
Or would you turn away too?

And then what if you saw
All of the things that’s wrong?
Would you stand tall and strong?
Or would you turn and walk away?

Because, Shut-Up!

Fallacy Hunt

Ok, it’s not really a fallacy but…

If you’re big enough and shout “Shut Up!” loud enough, or threateningly enough sometimes you’ll find some spineless moneygrubbers who will accept it as a valid argument. Sad, greedy people who only care about money are a good target. This is what happened to IrishCentral.com back in February 2014 when they published an article about the obscene “compenstaion” that charity bosses get, and mentioned Rehab CEO Angela Kerins. They described how people in Ireland who know about it are sickened by this abuse of charity money.

Instead of providing an argument–for example showing how this salary was justified, or at least showing how IrishCentral’s article was wrong, they chose the SHUT-UP! argument instead, writing to their service provider and suggesting they might become embroiled in a potential court case. The mercenary cowards of course immediately took the page down. This is what happens to people…

A Mail Online article, “The Great British rake-off… what really happens to the billions YOU donate to charity: Fat cat pay, appalling waste and hidden agendas” was published last November. It goes into some depth about how wasteful many charities are. Exposing how much money is spent on advertising, administration and so on, it details David Craig’s new book: The Great Charity Scandal, which he says “is not an attack on charity, but an attack on charities that put their own interests first”.

Well worth reading, here it is on the Mail Online website,

Masai Evicted for Dubai “Royals” Playground

Around 40,000 Masai people living in part of Tanzania bordering the Serengeti national park are to be evicted to make way for a playground for a foreign “royal” family. Dubai, a city built by slaves and ruled by a bunch of decadent despots, has a lot of poverty, but also some of the richest people in the world live or operate from there. They want a place to play at being hunters, and the Masai land is ideal for them.

See more in this RT article.

It may be difficult to believe that anyone would have the sheer arrogance to evict 40,000 people from their homeland just for entertainment, but if you look into the Dubai Royals, and how their pleasure dome has been built, you’ll start to understand.

Western NGO workers live luxuriously while Ebola orphans left to fend for themselves in Liberia

Western aid agencies areusing the plight of Africa’s Ebola orphans to fund a lavish lifestyle in $800-a-night hotels and leaving the children to fend for themselves, according to Liberia’s development chief.

Children who were forced to watch their parents die and were then shunned by their community are being ignored while useless facilities are being built, according to Julia Duncan-Cassell, Liberia’s minister in charge of saving the orphans.

She accused the agencies of handing out $235 daily allowances that are higher than her salary – and that the money invested is wasted on expensive hotels and driving around in big cars.

Meanwhile thousands of orphans have been abandoned to the care of neighbours and relatives who are struggling to find money and food to support them.

Pink Charity Scam Supports Cancer Causing Industry

Susan G. Komen partners with fracking industry to ‘pink wash’ cancer-causing chemicals pumped into ground (NaturalNews) By now, Americans are aware that breast cancer exists, thanks to the pink color-branding marketed by the Susan G. Komen Foundation. The foundation has literally “pink washed” the entire month of October, routinely partnering with outside organizations to sell products and raise money for their pink marketing machine, which primarily pays high salary executives, marketers and pharmaceutical sponsors.

According to Charity Navigator, the Foundation spent $18,394,170 in 2013 on administration expenses alone, allotting $560,896 to Founder and CEO Nancy Brinker and $606,461 to President Elizabeth Thompson. Sadly, all the pink hype provides virtually no education on the environmental toxins and heavy metals in the food and water that are directly linked to cancer, and the foundation does nothing to clean the world of these cancer-causing substances. The money does not go into the hands of actual cancer patients to help them make informed decisions on treatment, clean water, better nutrition and cellular detoxification; the money feeds the cancer management industry instead of helping people empower their own immune systems.

Komen to promote actual cancer-causing chemicals under their pink guise

Now, the Susan G. Komen Foundation is arrogantly partnering with one of the very industries that pump cancer-causing chemicals straight into the ground — the fracking industry. The Susan G. Komen Foundation has just entered into a yearlong partnership with Baker Hughes, a Houston-based oil field services company. The company uses a method of drilling called hydraulic fracturing. This method of drilling oil uses a myriad of toxic chemicals to efficiently pump oil out of the ground. The list of chemicals is long and causes reactions that have unforeseen consequences.

Charisma Inhibits Higher Brain Function In Believers.

Unfortunately this study only covered religious subjects, but its lessons can be applied pretty much anywhere. “Experts” are trotted out every night on news programs, to justify the most heinous of activities, or just to instill fear in the population. Politicians and other rulers practice being charismatic because it saves them having to be truthful. The voluntary and NGO sector is full of “conference dragons”, and so on.

The study found that a religious person, anticipating a person who has a reputation as a charismatic literally shuts down his highest brain functions in the charismatic’s presence. That doesn’t happen in the brains of non-believers.

An article on OpEdNews.com does some interesting speculation about this (archived as pdf: Power_of_Charisma) but again is limited by only looking at religious matters. The full study is available at intl-scan.oxfordjournals.org and pdf is archived here:

Power Can Corrupt Even The Honest

Filed under: Uncategorized — Direct Sponsor @ 10:27 pm

When appointing a new leader, selectors base their choice on several factors and typically look for leaders with desirable characteristics such as honesty and trustworthiness. However once leaders are in power, can we trust them to exercise it in a prosocial manner?

To investigate this the authors used experimental methods to distinguish between the situational and individual component; and determine if power corrupts or if corrupt individuals are drawn to power. The findings showed that those who measured as less honest exhibited more corrupt behaviour, at least initially; however, over time, even those who initially scored high on honesty were not shielded from the corruptive effects of power.

“Organisations should limit how much leaders can drink from the seductive chalice of power.”
