Clean Water Project to Go Ahead

Filed under: Morocco — Direct Sponsor @ 10:35 pm

Internationally acclaimed geologist and dowser Pal Pauer has kindly agreed to visit Ait Attab in January 2010 to locate places for us to drill boreholes, and to oversee the operation. Having supervised the drilling of over 1,000 wells throughout Africa, Pal is one of the world’s leading authorities on boreholes, hand pumps and rural water supply.

At the moment, people from the highland villages our center will serve have to walk up to 12 km to the nearest clean water in the summer, and then back again, uphill all the way. If we can only get two boreholes, one near our center and one near the village of Ait Larbi, the most distant place, it will make a huge difference to the lives of many people.

With over 40 years of experience in what is called “Primary Water”, Pal’s knowledge is perhaps unparalleled. While most water is soaked into the ground from rainfall, primary water is thought to be generated deep within the earth, and forced up through fissures in the rock. It is thus not dependent on rainfall, and Primary wells have been a source of fresh, clean water in the Middle East since biblical times.
